Marcia Chatelain is Associate Professor of History and African American Studies at Georgetown University. Chatelain is the author of South Side Girls: Growing up in the Great Migration, which examines the experiences of during the historic urbanization of African Americans in the early 20th century. She is currently researching African American communities and McDonald’s for her next book. Chatelain was a co-host of “ Undisclosed: The Killing of Freddie Gray,” a podcast. Chatelain recently served on Georgetown University’s Working Group on Slavery, Memory and Reconciliation.
